Each 7AM temperature rating has a bimetal disc specifically manufactured for that rating. Each device is then calibrated and checked for opening
temperature. This results in optimum snap–acting open and reset characteristics necessary to achieve consistent performance over the required cycle life.The Klixon bimetal disc welded in a steel can provides excellent thermal sensitivity and maximum protection properties.

How it works?
The 7AM Thermal protector uses the same snap-action principle of other KLIXON® protectors. The bimetal disc senses both heat and current from the equipment which 7AM is installed on. When the temperature of the disc reaches a predetermined calibration point, the disc snap open the contacts, thus breaking the current path. When the equipment returns to a normal operating range, the 7AM protector resets (close circuit) automatically.
Please Note :
- During installation, the temperature switch should be completely close to the mounting surface of the tested appliance.
- Do not collapse or deform the plastic / metal shell during installation.
- For metal temperature controller, when using, do not remove the insulating sleeve to avoid electric leakage. Not suitable for working in water.
- Not suitable for air temperature sensing, only applies to contact sensing.
What's the difference between N/C and N/O
Normally Closed: When the temperature falls to the reset temperature, the thermostat contact can be connected again. (If the reset temperature is not reached, the thermostat contact is also disconnected)
Normally Open: When the temperature falls to the reset temperature, the thermostat contact can be disconnected again. (If the reset temperature is not reached, the thermostat contact is also connected)

Selection of the Fuse and Holder Solution

- Should the fuse only be accessible from outside the appliance?
- How much is available to spend on safety and reliability?

The most important standards for fuse-holders, which specify requirements, characteristics and testing methods are:
- IEC-publication 257 (1968) and Amendment no. 2 to this publication dated January 1989.
- UL-standard no. 512.
